Luz Campos was born in Lima, Peru. She attended a French all girls’ Catholic School. She has a passion for Catholic education and integrates her faith in God with everything she does. By being part of a Catholic formation, she was able to develop a caring, sympathetic, giving and compassionate personality. This experience has shaped her to be a committed mother and a wife to her loving family. Luz has been married to her husband for 17 years and is the mother of two adventurous boys.
In 2004 she migrated with her parents and siblings to NY, where she continued her education and graduated from King’s Park Highschool. During this time, she learned to speak, read and write in English as a second language. After high school, she continued her education at Suffolk County Community College and received a degree in liberal arts.
Luz worked at the Law Office of Victoria Gaylor for three years as a translator. Her extensive knowledge in Spanish helped the attorneys with immigration interviews and translate Spanish documents into English and vice versa.
Her need to help others continued at Sawmill Intermediate School by working with third, fourth and fifth graders. Working there was a fulfilling experience for her and she was able to create a positive environment for the children.
Luz praises God every day for allowing her to be the Spanish teacher at St. Mary’s, because she can share her love of the Spanish language and her faith in God with all her future students.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
