Mrs Juanita Garnand was born and raised inTucumcari, New Mexico. She lived most of her life in Santa Rosa, NM where she raised her two sons. She worked for The Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools as the Middle School Secretary, the City of Santa Rosa teaching Library pre-school and Wells Fargo Bank as a Loan Secretary and retired as the Internal Auditor.
Mrs. Juanita moved to Albuquerque in 2006, at which time she started working at St. Mary’s as a substitute teacher. She also worked for The City of Albuquerque as the After School Program director at the Downtown Main Library for St. Mary’s students. In 2010 she left the City of Albuquerque and became St. Mary’s in house After School Care Director.
Caring for the students brings her such joy. She has seven grandchildren of her own and understands their needs and the joys they bring to us all. Seeing the students smile and happy makes her day. She feels blessed to be a part of St. Mary’s family and the biggest reward is the life long friendships she has with students, parents and staff.
Sewing is a hobby, taking long drives to the mountains is an enjoyment, crying during love stories and sometimes commercials is her silly side, but spending time with her husband Mark and all the family is a love she thanks God for every day.
