Mary Alice Salazar is a returning teacher to St. Mary's School. She is happy to be back as part of the SMS family, having enjoyed her time as a First Grade teacher in the mid 1990's. As she continues on as a Second Grade teacher, she aims to provide different types of learning, useful guidance, and positive encouragement to inspire the students as lifelong learners.
Mary Alice was born and raised near New Orleans, LA. She attended college at Baylor University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Her love of teaching was strengthened by a volunteer year at St. Martin’s in Kingsville, TX, a few years at St. Philip’s in Dallas, TX, and on to St. Mary's in Albuquerque. She completed her Education Classes at the College of Santa Fe.
Mary Alice and her husband, Frank (Albuquerque native and San Felipe alumnus), have 5 teenage/young adult children. They are part of the St. Joseph on the Rio Grande community. Mary Alice helps out with Religious Ed, RCIA, and joins in the choir on special occasions. She enjoys reading, music, games, and chocolate.
