Rebecca Maestas-Sanchez is a product of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, graduating from Our Lady of the Annunciation and St. Pius X High School. She has been employed within the Diocese since 2007.
She is thrilled to be leading one of Albuquerque’s biggest legacies, St. Mary’s Catholic School! She describes the school as, “historical and iconic with a rich 100 + years of
educating New Mexico children. If you did not attend St. Mary's, you certainly know someone that did!"
Rebecca has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from New Mexico
Highlands and a Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership & Administration from Creighton University,
Omaha, Nebraska. She believes passionately in the Catholic education because it is
the only model where Jesus is the center of the classroom, virtuous behavior is
taught and academic excellence is the expected outcome.
Rebecca is married to Michael R. Sanchez from Los Lunas and lives on a small farm next door to her mother. They have four
adult children that have also been educated within the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.
