Yvette DeLaTorre Groves started teaching seventeen years ago in the public school system, but the Holy Spirit led her to St. Mary’s five years ago. Yvette is passionate about technology and enabled mobile learning and online collaboration for the students and teachers at St. Mary's by migrating the school to the Google Education platform and Chromebook's two years ago. She is excited to continue leading the St. Mary's technology journey now and into the future.
Yvette is a proud alumnus of St. Pius X High School and the University of New Mexico, earning both her B.S. and M.A. in education with an emphasis in math, science, and educational technology. Most recently, she began teaching Social Studies.
Yvette loves board games, card games (especially Texas Hold’em), and sewing. She recently found a love for swimming and won 2 gold medals at the 2019 New Mexico Games for breaststroke and backstroke. She loves spending time away from work with her husband of 20 years, her daughter, and her 3 cats.
