It is Lucia Medina’s first year working at St. Mary’s School. Lucia aspires to install a love for Our Catholic Faith, learning, and community in her students this year through cooperative learning.
Lucia was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She and her 5 siblings were homeschooled by their mother from a lifegiving Catholic and Christian perspective. She graduated May 2020 from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelors in Elementary Education with a focus on Mathematics. She spent the previous year teaching English in Madrid, Spain. She is now back home and thrilled to have her own classroom and to apply all she has learned.
Lucia has been a life-long parishioner at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Lucia enjoys spending time with her family, playing volleyball, hiking, reading, travelling, and learning about the Catholic Faith. Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-8 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; and in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.”
