Monica Cozza was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Having attended Catholic school up through her higher education, she believes in the mission of Catholic schools: to educate future saints!
Monica graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She then began her teaching career in Spanish Harlem, NYC where she taught 4th grade for 3 years at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic School. During this time, Monica earned her Masters of Education degree from the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education program. As a teacher, Monica has conducted literacy research on the effects of conversation and dialogue on student writing in the ELA setting. After teaching in Little Rock, AR for a year, the Air Force moved her family to Albuquerque. She is very eager to serve the community of St. Mary’s as Assistant Principal, as she strives to become a Catholic school leader.
Monica enjoys traveling the world, reading, baking, and spending time outdoors with her husband and dog!
