Mrs. Zandra Callender is originally from Mexico where she spent her childhood and teenage years. Her family moved to El Paso, Texas 30 years ago where she attended college. After college Mrs. Callender moved to North Carolina where she worked as an Outreach Worker and Spanish Interpreter for 5 years. Upon her return to El Paso, she opened her own cakery business which she managed together with her family for over 7 years until the business closed in 2012.
Her love for children led her to start working in the education field for The City of El Paso Preschool Program. After moving to Albuquerque in 2018 Mrs. Callender accepted the position of Educational Assistant at St. Mary’s where she has enjoyed working with her students and great staff. She is excited to be part of the Dual Language Program as the Junior Kinder-Spanish Teacher.
Mrs. Callender is looking forward to her next travel destination, visiting family in El Paso, and spending time with her family, husband, daughter and pet dog, a black toy poodle named “Noche”.
